  Sky High's DJ Ruby Star will be spinning reggae tunes and our nonprofit program Backpack Art will represent with an info booth and ways to support this community art and learning initiativeMAY 17TH Mark your calendars for Roanoke’s premier multicultural festival with an international flavor. Now in it’s 34th, the Local Colors Festival features an Opening Ceremony, performances, and dozens of vendor booths representing cultures from around the globe. There will be cuisine, artisan booths, educational and cultural displays, and community partners. The children’s area has fun, interactive activities for youth to learn about different cultures. Plus, the international beer truck will be back! Admission is free.  

Each April, more than ten thousand visitors arrive in Roanoke for the running of the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon. Within that exciting atmosphere, the cultural venues of Downtown Roanoke open their doors and put on a weekend of live events designed to inspire the local community, connect with visitors, and celebrate creativity for all.

Roanoke Outside functions as the promoter of this collaboration, presenting a collective experience for runners and music lovers to come to come together on a single weekend in the Star City.
